'I didn't sign up to be a co-parent': 30-year-old single uncle refuses to babysit brother's kid after entire family pressures him to help raising the baby
Not wanting to have children is a decision most people do not take lightly. It's a statement, deciding not to have a family, and one that those who make it will have to explain for the rest of their lives, so they better be sure of it when they make it.
Once someone decides to be childless, they get to reap the enjoyment of never having to deal with the responsibility of having kids. Even devoted parents would probably give a lot to enjoy just a few days without that responsibility, and surely they miss the idea of sleeping in on a Sunday morning. And while parents can only dream of those, a childless adult gets to enjoy that every day, and no one can take that away from them.
Since every adult lives according to the decisions they made in life, it's not fair to expect someone else to bear the consequences of the decisions you made. Which means that parents should not expect their childless friends and family to take the responsibility of their children from them, no matter how much they want that day off. Unfortunately, that is what happened in the story below between a single guy and his brother, who recently became a parent. Keep scrolling to read the full story.
